fangame is complete with Classic Mode, Adventure Mode, and all of the things that make Smash Bros. It just does to me, and I don't know why.Choose your characters and options and battle it out with 28 different characters in the original title that started it all – Super Smash Flash! I specifically chose select because A) There are barely any games these days that use a select button at all(if otherwise, I'm not looking in to enough games), and B) The select button seems like it fits the "sheild" action a lot for some reason. I'm guessing having any further actions for the same button at a time would be impossible for Game Boy's standards, which is why movesets are extremely limited. Select being used for Shield is a choice I'm considering due to the few buttons the Game Boy has and every button already having a function. Left/Right = Run/Dash(if pressed in the same direction twice in a row)Īnd for the people who don't like the fact that Select is being used for sheild: Up = Jump/Double Jump(if pressed twice in a row) Physics for running and jumping will try to emulate those of Kirby's DreamlandĪs of now, the collection of Items include: Items such as the Smash Ball and Assist Trophy will not appear due to limitations of the Game Boy. Also, I don't think programming anything like 1v4 or even Team Battles will be possible.) Timed 1v1 stock matches(These will last 3 minutes each. 5 stages if I decide to include Donkey Kong.) 4 stages(1 stage for each series represented by the roster. I've realized that Donkey Kong will probably take too much space compared to the other 4, so he's been excluded, for now.) 4 characters(Mario, Kirby, Link, and Pikachu. Here's what will be in the game(as of now): So I plan on starting a Game Boy Homebrew that recreates the Smash Bros games in grayscale 8-Bit, but I won't start the project until sometime after August 4th.
